When the handle is shaken to rotate the screw, the movable clamp body can be driven to move axially relative to the fixed clamp body to clamp or relax. The spring is fixed on the screw with the help of a retaining ring and a cotter pin. Its function is to enable the movable clamp body to withdraw in time when the screw is relaxed. The fixed clamp body and the movable clamp body are each equipped with steel jaws and fixed with screws. The working surface of the jaws is patterned with cross patterns to prevent the workpiece from slipping after being clamped. The jaws are hardened by heat treatment and have good wear resistance. The fixed clamp body is mounted on the swivel base and can rotate around the axis of the swivel base. When turned to the required direction, pull the clamping handle to tighten the clamping screw, and then the fixed clamp can be tightened under the action of the clamping disc. Tighten the clamp body. How to Use vise
When the bench vise is installed on the vise table, the working surface of the fixed vise body must be outside the edge of the vise table to ensure that when clamping a long workpiece, the lower end of the workpiece is not obstructed by the edge of the vise table. The middle hole of the swivel base should be facing inward, so that the bench can bear more force and avoid crushing the bench.
After the vise is installed on the vise table, the operator's height when working is more suitable. Generally, the height of the jaws is exactly flush with the elbow, that is, the elbow is placed at the highest point of the vise and the fist is half-clenched, and the fist is just touching the chin. The length and width will depend on the job
Routine Maintenance of Vise
When installing a bench vise, part of the jaws that fix the vise body must be outside the edge of the vise to ensure that when clamping a long workpiece, the workpiece is not hindered by the edge of the vise.
The bench vise must be firmly fixed on the vise table, and the three compression screws must be tightened so that the vise body does not loosen during processing. Otherwise, the vise will be damaged and processing will be affected.
When clamping the workpiece, only use hand power to pull the handle. Never use a hammer or other sleeve to pull the handle to avoid damage to the screw, nut or clamp body. Screws, nuts and other sliding surfaces need to be kept clean and lubricated regularly.
Do not hit the workpiece on the jaws, but on the platform where the jaws are fixed, otherwise the jaws will be damaged.
Precautions for use
When clamping the workpiece, it must be properly tightened. The handle can only be tightened by hand, and no other tools are allowed to apply force.
When working with force, the force should be directed toward the fixed clamp body as much as possible.
Do not knock on the movable clamp body or smooth surface.
The movable surfaces such as screws and nuts should be cleaned and lubricated frequently to prevent rust.
