Features of CNC tool holder typesEdit:

(1) When processing curved surface parts, in order to ensure that the cutting edge of the tool is tangent to the machining contour at the cutting point and avoid interference between the cutting edge and the workpiece contour, a ball-nose cutter is generally used, and a two-edged milling cutter is used for roughing, semi-finishing and Four-edge milling cutter for finishing

(2) When milling larger planes, in order to improve production efficiency and improve surface roughness, blade-embedded disc milling cutters are generally used.

(3) When milling small planes or stepped surfaces, a general-purpose milling cutter is generally used.

(4) When milling the keyway, in order to ensure the dimensional accuracy of the groove, a two-edged keyway milling cutter is generally used.

(5) When processing holes, drills and other hole processing tools can be used

CNC tool holder structure:
The structural forms of CNC machine tool tool holders are divided into two types: integral type and modular type. The working part of the integral tool holder for clamping the tool is integrated with the shank used for installation and positioning on the machine tool. This kind of tool holder has poor adaptability to changes in machine tools and parts. In order to adapt to the change of parts and machine tools, users must stock tool holders of various specifications, so the utilization rate of tool holders is low. The modular tool system is a more advanced tool system in which each tool holder can be assembled from various series of modules. According to different processing parts and machine tools, different assembly solutions can be adopted to obtain a variety of tool holder series, thereby improving the adaptability and utilization rate of the tool holder.

The choice of tool handle structural form should take into account both technological advancement and economic rationality: ① For some simple tools that are used repeatedly for a long time and do not need to be assembled, it is better to be equipped with an integral tool handle, so that the tool has good rigidity and is cheap (such as for processing the outer contour of parts) end mill tool holders, spring chuck tool holders, drill chuck tool holders, etc.); ② When processing multiple varieties and small batches of parts with frequently changing hole diameters and hole depths, modular tool holders should be used to replace a large number of integral parts. Type boring tool holders reduce processing costs; ③ For many CNC machine tools, especially when the end of the machine tool spindle and tool change manipulator are different, it is advisable to use modular tool holders. Since the intermediate modules (connectors) and working modules (tool-mounting modules) used by each machine tool can be used in common, equipment investment can be greatly reduced and tool utilization can be improved.

Specifications of CNC tool holder:
Most CNC tool holders use 7:24 tapered tool holders, and adopt corresponding types of rivet tightening structures to match the machine tool spindle. The tool handles come in various sizes, with 30, 40 and 50 being the most commonly used ones. Currently, the ones that are widely used in our country include ISO7388-1983, GB10944-1989, MAS403-1982, ANSI/ASMEB5.50-1985, etc. When selecting, the tool holder specifications should be considered to be compatible with the machine tool spindle and manipulator.

Specifications and quantities of CNC tool holders:
The integrated TSG tool system includes 20 types of tool holders, with hundreds of specifications. Users can select the variety and specifications of tool holders based on the CNC machining process of typical parts being processed, which can meet processing requirements without causing a backlog. . Considering that a certain number of tool holders are being pre-adjusted or tool sharpened while the CNC machine tool is working, the number of tool holders usually configured is 2 to 3 times the required tool holders.

Matching of CNC tool and tool holder:
Pay attention to the matching of the tool holder and the tool, especially when selecting a tapping tool holder, pay attention to the size of the tap drive square head. In addition, the use of single-edged boring tools on CNC machine tools can avoid scratching the workpiece when retracting the tool, but attention should be paid to the position and direction of the tool tip relative to the keyway on the tool handle: some machine tools require that the keyway orientation be consistent, while others require Perpendicular to the keyway orientation.

Choose high-efficiency and composite tool holders:
In order to improve processing efficiency, high-efficiency tools and tool holders should be used as much as possible. For example, a double-edged boring tool holder can be used for rough boring, which can not only improve processing efficiency but also help reduce cutting vibration; a powerful spring chuck can not only hold straight-shank tools, but also can hold tools with holes through adapters. . For typical workpieces with large batches and complex processing, composite cutting tools should be used as much as possible. Although composite cutting tools and tool holders are relatively expensive, using composite cutting tools for processing on a machining center can combine multiple processes into one process and be completed by one tool, which is beneficial to reducing processing time and the number of tool changes, and significantly improving production efficiency. . For some special parts, specially designed composite tool holders can also be considered.
