How to ensure the milling perpendicularity of flat nose pliers

Larger standard workpieces can be processed directly on the workbench of a milling machine using flat pliers, and alignment should be performed before processing. The main operation process is as follows:

(1) Press the workpiece quietly with bolts and pressure plates, and then align it with a square. The right angle side of the square is closely attached to the vertical guide rail surface of the milling machine, and the other right angle side of the square is closely attached to the surface. After alignment, fasten the workpiece and start the milling machine to mill the surface 1

(2) Using the milled surface 1 as the alignment reference surface, still use the above method to align the equipment workpiece, and then mill out surface 2

(3) Using surface 2 as the reference surface, mill surface 3

(4) Milling out surface 4 using surface 3 as a reference surface

The two adjacent surfaces milled in this way are perpendicular to each other. When working on equipment workpieces, it is necessary to clean the bottom surface of the workpieces to prevent padding under the workpieces, which may affect the mutual orientation errors of the workpiece surfaces and the stability of the equipment.

When the accuracy of the vertical surface to be processed needs to be high, a dial indicator can be used for alignment. At this time, attach the magnetic watch holder to the vertical guide surface of the milling machine, contact the dial gauge measuring head with the workpiece reference surface, move the work table laterally, and use the above method for alignment.

(5) Use the indexing head to change the workpiece to ensure perpendicularity

When milling a vertical surface on a shaft type workpiece or other circular or cylindrical workpiece, it can be clamped on the indexing head. Each time a surface is milled, the workpiece is rotated through 90 °.
